For applying for an internship, one needs to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org along with the CV. Based on the CV, the office confirms the internship.
Duration of internship and timings
19th April to 19th May 2017
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
On the first day, I was called to the office. Since it was Wednesday so all the associates were in the Courts. So it was only in the evening that I was assigned some work.
Visit and witness the proceedings in the courts. Prepare case briefs, rejoinders, affidavits, research on a given problem.
Work environment and people
Associates were really nice and the co-interns were very helpful and friendly. Work is given depending on the inclination and ability of the intern. Keen interns will always be alotted plentiful work.
I got to visit not only the Supreme Court of India, but also the High Court, the District Courts and the National Green Tribunal.
I gained a lot of exposure to the work that goes on at a litigation office and the lifestyle.
No interaction with Pinky Ma’am. If you don’t already know about, drafting or research, you will not be taught or spoon-fed. So one must prepare themselves for the internship.
Litigation requires a lot of dedication, and commitment. There are no fixed hours for work in the life of a lawyer.
There are various PGs available around such as DelhiStay, etc. Even the Secretary, Amit, will be willing to provide contacts of pgs nearby.
10 am to 9 pm which could be extended depending on the work.
