Duration of internship
July 3, 2017 – July 31, 2017
First day, first impression
You’ll get the idea of what you’ll get to learn from sir on a very first day itself as he is a perfectionist and a highly organized person. I was introduced to all the co-interns, associates and office staff.
The day left me in anticipation of all the learning and new experiences that awaited me in the coming month.
I was fortunate enough to get the internship under Mr. Jaggi in the second year. Drafting is his forte so I got to learn from the very basics to all the intricacies of it.
Not only the drafting, Sir made sure that there should be an overall development of each intern who’s investing their time in the internship, therefore I was provided with a lot of exposure at the high court.
We were given many opportunities to sit with sir and observe the systematic way of client counseling, and we were also indulged in the process of discussing the entire case with Sir.
As Jaggi Sir is very observant and particular about English so he pinpoints the minutest mistakes and then always correct them by making you understand your mistake in a way that you’ll never make it again.
Mr. Jaggi is a highly experienced advocate so his cross-examination skills leave you in awe and are one of the most important things that you’ll get to learn there.
Including all the above-mentioned experiences, the small lessons about personality development, practical knowledge and Sir’s ‘out of the box’ ways of teaching you things was something that I’ll always cherish. As its Sir’s experience that speaks and he’s someone “who leads by example”.
No bad things as such.
The office staff is very cooperative. You’ll be provided with enough work to keep you equipped for the entire day.
Apart from all the academically inclined lessons that you’ll get to learn, you’ll also get to learn a plenty of life lessons that sir has gained from his long and coherent experience.
One of the best parts of interning with Mr. Jaggi is the workspace. The environment in the chamber is very work-friendly.
No stipend, but the learning experiences were so enriching that no monetary gain could have compensated it.
