I received a call From the HR within  four  days of time. They generally take two interns at a time so it is better to apply one or two months in advance.

Office timing and Duration: The official working hours are from 9 AM to 6 PM. Depending upon the work the intern would be asked to stay for a longer period of time. I was a full time intern and I interned for 25 days .

Dress Code: Formals or Semi-formals

First Day Impression and Formalities

I Reached the office at 8:30 AM on the first day . The office is huge and fully Air Conditioned with separate desk with monitor allotted to each intern. The HR Mrs Nidhi Bhaiya welcomed me collected my documents and introduced me to the partners, associates and employees.

Since there weren’t any co-interns I was scared on the first day but later the people over there were very friendly and I started moving along with them.

The Firm

Universal Legal, Chennai, is an extremely work friendly atmosphere under the guidance of the partners, Ms. Kavitha Vijay and Ms. Sameena Eswari Chatrapathy. The associates and employees  here are so friendly you can approach them even with the silliest doubts and they clear it without any hesitation.

Generally there is a hype that second year law students do not get much work in a law firm but Universal Legal Attorneys at Law treats all years of law students as the same and assign them most useful work from which they can learn things.

The employees and associates thought me each and every important Acts and how to research on each and every amendments. The type of works assigned to an intern are research, proof reading, preparation of Database, working on Corporate newsletters, legal briefing, etc. Its a great place to learn especially for 2nd and 3rd year law students .

Pros:

Friendly associates and  Employees, Improves Research skills, Good ambiance. I had a chance to intern with the CS team also .

Cons:

There are no cons as such. The only disadvantage is when I interned there were no Co-interns.
